If you need to adjust the slippage tolerance for transactions on Beam Swap or Beam Bridge, follow these steps:
- Connect your wallet
- For Beam Swap, go to https://swap.onbeam.com/#/swap, for Beam bridge, go to https://bridge.onbeam.com/bridge.
- At the top right of the page, locate the “connect” button to connect your wallet.
- Access the settings drop-down:
- Once your wallet is connected, click on the “settings” button located at the top right of the page.
- Adjust the slippage tolerance:
- From the drop-down, you can either choose any of the preset values or enter a value in the field provided.
Important note:
Impact of slippage tolerance:
- Default slippage: usually, the default setting allows your transaction to proceed with minimal price impact and the best swap output relative to the network and your swap size.
- Low slippage: lowering the slippage could result in failed swaps if the market moves quickly.
- High slippage: increases the likelihood of your transaction success, however, you could end up with a less favorable price and lower token output due to volatility and slippage.
- Adjusting slippage: if set to lower than the default value, the transaction could fail. If set higher than the default value, it could allow your transaction to proceed at a more market prevalent rate, however, exposes you to greater price fluctuations.
Always proceed with caution and adjust slippage according to your risk tolerance and the nature of the assets being swapped.
